Diamond Jet Satin and Glossy proofing papers debut at Graph Expo

RYE, NY – Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc., expanded its inkjet media product line with the introduction of Diamond Jet UM120-Satin and UF120-Glossy Proofing Papers.

Featuring resin-coated bases and Mitsubishi’s patented microporous coating, Diamond Jet Satin and Glossy Proofing Papers are similar to popular offset printing papers and deliver highly accurate color proofs. Both dry instantly and offer excellent water resistance, so proofs can be handled as soon as they are printed. With 170 gsm and a thickness of 7 mil, the papers are easy to handle and economical. They are compatible with both dye and pigment inks.

Diamond Jet Satin and Glossy Proofing Papers are available in rolls 24, 36 and 44 inches wide.

“Now in Satin and Glossy, the Diamond Jet line of world-class proofing papers gives printers even more options to create faithful renditions of the final print product,” said Mitsubishi Product Manager Steven Vallario.

Mitsubishi Imaging will be printing these and other Diamond Jet papers on the Canon W6400, IFP5000 and recently released IFP8000, which it distributes, during Graph Expo October 15-18, 2006.

Computer to Plate just got easier with the all-new Mitsubishi DPX 2 Platesetter

Next generation DPX 2 also complies with eco-friendly RoHS Directive

RYE, NY – Metal has met its match. Introducing the DPX 2 polyester CTP platesetter from Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc. Manufactured by ECRM, Mitsubishi’s new DPX 2 offers the resolution of metal platesetters without their high prices, making DPX 2 the clear, profitable choice for digital platemaking.

The DPX 2 offers upgrades to the DPX System, the industry standard for polyester Computer to Plate (CTP) technology. Sporting an internal drum for high-resolution imaging and image to punch for consistent and accurate registration, the DPX 2 produces imaged, punched, press-ready plates in minutes.

“Our DPX 2 enables process color printing as well as metal platesetters and beats them hands-down in price,” said Colleen Molkenbur, Senior Product Manager at Mitsubishi Imaging. “It is safer, smarter, sleeker and easier-to-use than anything else on the market. Now it’s easier than ever for printers to step up to computer-to-plate technology.”

Polyester plates eliminate stripping and chemical costs associated with the analog metal plate process. With total cost of ownership so low, many print shops find that they recoup their investment in polyester very quickly, much faster than with a metal CTP system.

Both new customers and existing DPX System owners can boost productivity with these new DPX 2 features:

Updated design with new lift-off doors

Automatic pre-load of plates

Feed sensors that register the plate edge

New replenishment system

Refined graphical user interface

DPX 2 IS BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The company also expanded its commitment to eco-friendly products by making the new DPX 2 RoHS-compliant. The RoHS Directive is a new European Union standard aimed at making electronic equipment safer for the environment.

The new RoHS-compliant DPX 2 is available from Mitsubishi’s authorized dealer network. To find a dealer, call 800 765 9384 x3232 or visit the Graphic Arts Division at http://www.mitsubishiimaging.com and select Dealer Locator.
