Mitsubishi Imaging Releases Zero Chemistry, Processless Thermal DigiPlate at GRAPH EXPO 08

RYE, NY – Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc., leading provider of technologies for small to medium sized printers announced that it will release its new processless, chemistry-free TDP-R175 Thermal DigiPlate and Thermal DigiPlater TDP-459 at GRAPH EXPO 2008 in Chicago, Oct. 26-29. Mitsubishi’s Thermal Digiplate is a 2-up CTP system ideal for small printers who want an environmentally friendly upgrade from analog and electrostatic plates.

“Small print shops want to go green just as much as the big guys, but they usually can’t afford the current options, which are designed and priced for the larger printers,” said Colleen Molkenbur, Senior Product Manager for Graphic Arts Materials at Mitsubishi Imaging. “Mitsubishi’s Thermal DigiPlate is an eco-friendly, fully automated and fully affordable CTP system designed specifically for the small commercial printer.”

TDP uses a patented thermal fusing technology to create a high-contrast image on the plate without chemical development or wash-off. The system requires absolutely no chemicals, toner or ink ribbon, so it’s easy to maintain.

Suited also for high-volume environments, the Thermal Digiplater can produce up to 60 plates/hour and output plates up to 18.1” x 20.8”. TDP products are available for shipment and installation in December 2008.

Thermal DigiPlate and the complete line of Mitsubishi Imaging products will be on display in the company’s booth 5225.
