About Mitsubishi Imaging

Mitsubishi Imaging has a long history of success serving the imaging needs of the photographic, inkjet and graphic arts industries in North and South America.

Our SilverMaster direct-to-plate system was introduced in North America in 1979 and has been the industry standard ever since. Ten years later, in 1985, we launched Silver DigiPlate, a groundbreaking polyester computer-to-plate system that helped spark the CTP revolution.

In 1995 our two corporate parents, Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation came together to form one company, Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc. Headquartered in Rye, NY, we are responsible for sales, marketing and technical support of our portfolio.

In 1997 we began distributing Diamond Jet inkjet papers, produced by our parent Mitsubishi Paper Mills, for proofing and poster printing applications. After Pictorico inkjet was acquired by our parent Mitsubishi Paper Mills from Asahi Glass, in 2006, we became the exclusive distributors of the high-end inkjet brand targeted at professional photographers.

In January 2007, we launched the Mitsubishi Center for Education. The facility allows customers to test-drive our products and equally important we can help plan for the future and maximize your investment in your people and technology.

Because natural resources drive our business, care of the environment is a top priority. Our parent, Mitsubishi Paper Mills has been recognized for its environmental stewardship. They plant more trees per ton of paper than any other company, a process called afforestation. Both Mitsubishi Paper Mills and Mitsubishi Corporation have underlined their environmental commitment by securing certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) at the Chilean afforestation project. That certification verifies the implementation of rigorous guidelines for sustainable forest management. Mitsubishi Imaging in kind holds a Chain of Custody certification ensuring that we are also held to the FSC standard for the papers we sell.

Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM) Inc. is located in Rye, NY, approximately 20 miles north of New York City. The Corporate Center at Rye facility houses the 27,000 square foot Corporate Headquarters and the Technical and Training Center.
